Oxford United Win Again
Oxford United won again this evening to keep an 8 point lead at the top of the Blue Square Premier. Kettering had been on course to suffer a defeat in their away fixture against Hayes & Yeading, two late goals provided a win for the Northamptonshire side however, and Oxford’s lead at the top was therefore not extended.
Stevenage has a game in hand over Oxford which could potentially push the lead back to 6 points, Oxford United is the team to beat in the Blue Square Premier right now though, the team at the top that all else will be aiming for.
Oxford United finished in 7th last season, narrowly missing out on the play-offs having enjoyed an incredibly impressive second-half of the season. Oxford will now be looking to return to the Football League, having been relegated along with Rushden & Diamonds at the end of the 2005/06 season.
